LONG RANGE PLANNING COMMITTEE

The LRPC met yesterday and member Tom Schraeder presented his committees recommendations for rebuilding our pickleball and tennis courts.  You should thank Tom when you see him for proposing the HOA.
  • immediately hire an architect to study our facility and develop a plan to integrate all our courts into one integrated facility
  • reconstruct the stadium courts to USAPA standards next year
  • engage a lighting professional to recommend improvements to all court lighting
  • reconstruct sport court 2 from a tennis court into 4 USAPA standard pickleball courts in 2018 and add a shade ramada on the West side of the stadium matching the one on the East side.  He proposed combining this reconstruction at  the same time as the stadium court (next year) thereby saving construction cost if feasible.
  • HOA BOARD should draft a sponsorship policy so that the PB Club (and others) can begin to contact nearby businesses to get donations to help pay for our First Class facility.
Your Pickleball Club board endorses this plan and will be supporting its implementation in every way possible to keep it from getting delayed.  the PB Club has lost 8 members who have moved from Westbrook to Sun City and Pebble Creek because of their superior sports facilities.  We need to stop that flow, make our facility more attractive to new home buyers and we all will be rewarded with increasing home values.

Membership

If any of you are presented with a membership app, waiver and/or money, please be friendly and walk them to the Vistas Recreation Center desk and leave it there.  Please do NOT leave it courtside in the “BOX”. The money sometimes gets separated from the app and lost.

Update Your Membership Record here please.  This is the unique link to your membership record.  Click the link and be sure to opt in or out of the membership contact list which we will publish soon.  Remember to click your age category and playing level.  We have given our membership ample time to check and make updates, and Opt-out of the club membership contact list if desired.  There is a flier on the bulletin board showing how to do this, and almost every club email since December has requested our members do this update.  Soon we will release the membership contact list to those who are paid for 2016, and have also chosen to remain opted-in to this contact list.  The purpose of the membership contact list is to help our members contact others in the club to arrange special playing times and other social reasons.  Anyone who does not want to have their contact information made available to other participating members should use the "Update Your Membership Record" link at the beginning of this paragraph and opt-out.  This link is also always at the bottom of all club emails, including this one, so you will always be able to find it if you need to update your information or preferences.  Everyone who is paid in full for 2016 and has remained Opted-in will receive the password to the online membership contact list.

Donate your old paddles for newbies to use in drills.  We are having more prospective and new members than loaner paddles.
